Set Sail on a Super Bowl Anniversary Cruise

The Green Bay Packers are celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Super Bowl XXXI Championship throughout this season and the Official Tour Company, Packer Fan Tours, will cap that off with its “Packer Cruise” this February. Like the eleven previous annual installments, this year’s Packer Cruise brings together Packer players and fans on a one-week all-inclusive journey to exotic ports.
This year, rather than bringing along current Packers players, the “Super Bowl XXXI Anniversary Packer Cruise” will feature players from the Packers’ 1996 Championship team, including William Henderson, Gilbert Brown, Chris Jacke, George Koonce and Craig Hentrich. Henderson will act as co-Master of Ceremonies will Chris Roth, noted Packers authority and Director of Sports at WBAY-TV in Green Bay. Roth and Henderson co-host a popular weekly Packer show and will resume their on-air chemistry for the Packers fans accompanying them on the cruise.
The Packer Cruise departs from New Orleans, site of the Super Bowl XXXI victory, on February 11, 2007, returning a week later, after its journey to the Western Caribbean, with ports-of-call including Costa Maya, Santo Tomas de Castilla (Guatemala), Belize, and Cozumel, sailing on the “Norwegian Sun”, one of NCL’s most luxurious ships.
While onboard, fans will attend many sessions where the can meet the players, ask questions, get autographs and photos, and generally have an opportunity to get to know the players and to reminisce about one of the greatest and most dominant teams in NFL history. Players will participate in shore excursions, as well. A trivia contest with teams of fans, each captained by a Packer player, will occur onboard. Last year’s session inspired spirited competition and rivalries between the players. “The players went a little crazy, coaching their teams and trying to win the game. Their competitive spirit boiled over and the fans had a blast!” per Eran Roth, PFT Operations Manager.
Gilbert Brown’s just-released Super Bowl book will be given to every Packer Cruise passenger, and it can be autographed by each player in attendance. On the day before departure, an optional motorcoach tour of New Orleans and to “Favre Country” is available, complete with a Cajun-style crawfish boil in Kiln.
